Easter holidays

In the Easter holidays 2013 we visited Turieno to see the house. There was a smell of snow in the air. It was raw, misty, grey. Leafless, cheerless trees sheltered a few shivering wee birds.
Yesterday in the Easter holidays 2014: 28 degrees in glorious sunshine, the kids soaking their caps in cold water to get cool. Frantic birdsong from the treetops. Blossom, verges bursting with wildflowers, the river gushing with snowmelt. Newborn foals and calves in the meadows.
Pope Francis seems like a reasonable chap, and he’s on Twitter; I shall write and suggest Easter be always end of April, please, thank you.
